Black trivalent is a chromate conversion coating for zinc and zinc alloy deposits. Black trivalent coating produces a uniform gloss-black and self-healing finish. It has excellent stability and tolerance to high levels of zinc contamination. Black trivalent is considered the environmentally friendly alternative to hexavalent chromium.

ZN 1596 works together with ZN 1596S, a sealer to provide maximum salt spray hour.

ZN 1596 has excellent stability and shelf-life. Does not degrade or precipitate during hard production runs or long shut down periods.
