Black Nickel

Black nickel plating is electrolytic nickel plating with a subsequent process to darken the surface. This coating will enhance corrosion protection and electrical conductivity while minimising surface reflectance.

Description

KM NICKEL BLACK process is a decorative plating process of tin-nickel alloy with a unique tint appearance. It is generally applied over bright nickel or satin nickel coating, and it can be used in barrel operation.

KM NICKEL BLACK has good bath stability, assuring the stability in tone of plating film.

KM NICKEL BLACK has better corrosion resistance than tin-cobalt alloy plating films in general.

Equipment

Tank: Hard PVC or PP
Heating: Telfon or Quartz heater
Agitation: Mechanical agitation or pump circulation. (Air agitation is not recommended)
Anode: Carbon plate
Anode to Cathode ratio: 1:1 to 1:2
Rocking of workpieces: Cathode rocker
Filtration: Continuous filtration (Activated carbon is not necessary)
Ventilation: Required
