Hexavalent chromating is a valence state of the element chromium. It uses immersion process to improve corrosion resistance. It can also be employed as an anticorrosive agent in paints, primers and other surface coatings. Hexavalent chromating gives a decorative or protective covering.

Description
AL 1589Y produces brass to bronze chromate films over aluminium and aluminium alloys. The coating provides excellent corrosion protection on aluminium. It is also a good base for painting or lacquering.
AL 1589Y is a single-stage process which is simple to maintain and can be applied by immersion, brush or spray system.
