Micro-porous Nickel

Micro-porous nickel process improves the corrosion resistance of decorative nickel-chrome plating and prevents both substrates from surface corrosion. Consistent, regular pore size and pore counts to increase the surface corrosion resistance applied in duplex nickel system.

Description

KM MP 700 is a process for improving the corrosion resistance of decorative nickel-chrome plating and prevents both substrates from surface corrosion as required by automotive industries standards.

The KM MP 700 electrolyte contains insoluble, extremely fine, non-metallic particles dispersed throughout the solution by effective and uniform air agitation.

This process is used in conjunction after a duplex nickel system. The thin nickel layer with the finely deposited particle results in a micro-porous chromium coating when plated subsequently with chromium.

Equipment

Tank: Steel tank lined with PP/PVC
Heating: Titanium, Quartz or Teflon. It is essential to use thermostat-controlled heating
Agitation: Air agitation must be mild but uniform throughout the entire solution
Rectifier: 12 ~ 15 volt rectifier is required
Filtration: Due to the finely suspended solids, continuous filtration for KM MP 700 process is not recommended
